Research Associate Opportunity!

The Department of Information Systems and Business Communication at the University of North Dakota is looking for one full-time research associate. The research associate will (1) conduct scientific research in computer and system security/survivability; (2) plan, organize and conduct various tasks in research design, analysis, modeling, simulation and experimentation; (3) process and analyze results and data; and (4) evaluate validity of findings and communicate results to the scientific community.

The candidate must:
– have an advanced degree (master or Ph.D.) in computer science, mathematics, computer engineering, information systems, or a closely related field;
– have expertise in at least one of the following areas: (a) software and system security; (b) programming languages; (c) theoretical computation; and (d) mathematical modeling and analysis.
– demonstrated skills in using one high-level programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java).

An Ph.D (or ABD) degree is highly preferred. Related research experience is a plus. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills in English.

The salary will be $2,500-3,700/month plus benefits based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The starting date will be October 1, 2013 or when the position is filled. The qualified candidate is initially hired for one year and subject to renewal.
