Dr. David Opitz, a former tenured Professor in the Computer Science Department, is an internationally recognized expert in artificial intelligence and remote sensing. On Friday, April 15th from 12-1pm in SS 362, Dave will introduce a system that uses Machine Learning techniques to automatically extract 2D and 3D information from imagery. Various applications of this approach will be discussed, and at the end we will discuss the issue of commercializing computer science research in general. Please plan on participating in this exciting lecture (pizza and pop will be served).
